New Leaf Editions Submission Guidelines

Thistledown's New Leaf Editions Series is devoted to introducing talented writers to the Canadian public with their first full-length publications. The series consists of usually four books of 64 pages each with a similar format and design.

Note: We will accept submissions on an ongoing basis. Please specify in your cover letter that you are submitting to New Leaf Editions. If you would like notification that your submission has been received, send a self-addressed, stamped postcard. We will not respond to emails asking for confirmation of receipt.

1. Priority will be given to entrants who are Saskatchewan residents.

2. Submissions are restricted to entrants who have not had their work previously published as a whole in book form.

3. Submissions may be poetry, literary fiction, or creative non-fiction, and should be around 100 manuscript pages to allow for editing and selection.

4. The manuscript should be an original, double-spaced hard copy generated from a suitable word processing program.

5. Include with the submission a brief biographical summary, full publishing history, and a sufficient SASE for return of all the submitted materials.

6. Close consideration will be given to work that is imaginative and well crafted, with a wide appeal.

7. Simultaneous and electronic submissions will not be accepted.
